Kimmy and Chris met five years ago when Chris was a lifeguard at the pool that Kimmy attended. Kimmy “rescued” him from a member that was hassling him. She won his heart that day, but it took some convincing before Kimmy would go on a date with him. He eventually convinced her to go on a date, which led to their proposal the summer of 2014. They are inseparable and their adoration for each other is clear.

Kimmy and Chris wanted a traditional Catholic ceremony at the Basilica of Saint Lawrence in Asheville. For the reception, they envisioned an elegant, beautiful setting that had rustic and timeless elements. With its beautiful outdoor courtyard and barn-like feel, Deerpark was the perfect choice. To add a dash of glamour to the existing rustic environment, we brought in several chandeliers and romantic blush linens.

Due to an unusually chilly April, we moved the cocktail hour and dancing inside the Lodge Room, which lent itself perfectly to the lively guests that were ready to get down on the dance floor. I have never seen such a group nail every single line dance. So much fun! We opted for open seating and a mix of tables and beautiful floral arrangements by Floressence in shades of peach, coral, cream, and white.

The children had their own section with fun tables lined with craft paper, crayons, custom coloring books and mad libs. They even had their own food station equipped with chicken tender and french fries. The glow sticks – that were intended for the kids – made it to the dance floor and were a huge hit with the guests.

Fortunately, the cold didn’t keep us from a proper send off with sparklers and a classic Rolls-Royce. Cheers to Kimmy and Chris!
