Venue Spotlight - Century Room on the Park

Like most people who flock to Downtown Asheville, I thrive in the eclectic mix of historic architecture, posh restaurants and shops, and vibrant street scenes. I toured a gorgeous new event space in Downtown, The Century Room on the Park that captures the essence of the city’s rich history coupled with the chic Asheville of today.

Originally built in 1907, the historic Hayes and Hopson Building was restored in 2009 and is home to The Century Room and Pack’s Tavern overlooking Pack’s Square Park. The Griffin Award winning restoration features exposed brick walls, the original tongue and groove wood trusses in the ceilings and turn of the century fittings.

The Century Room is over 4000 square feet of open space and had as stage at one end framed by huge windows overlooking the Jackson Building in Downtown Asheville. The venue has it’s own designated kitchen and bathroom facilities as well as a beautiful 23-foot bar to accommodate guests in the event space. A sound system and projection screen are equipped with iPod, CD and DVD connections.

The Century Room is ideal for formal wedding receptions and rehearsal dinners, corporate meetings and luncheons, or just a good old-fashioned party. The capacity is 180 people for a seated function and up to 375 for a cocktail style event and has a private entrance.
