We are excited to share images from the Mission Health: Mountains of Hope fundraising dinner at the U.S. Cellular Center (USCC)! The theme of the evening was Coming Together to Build a Healthier Community. Mission Health in Asheville, North Carolina is currently working to expand its facility to accommodate the needs of their patients by constructing a new building – the Hospital for Advanced Medicine – just south of downtown. We selected the USCC for the evenings event and were excited about the industrial feel of the space with a nod to the construction theme, but knew we would have some work to do to update the space for a formal dinner for 300.

The design and decor vision was to create an elevated construction theme. We opted to drape the perimeter of the arena, as well as the entry, and to separate the pre-dinner space from the dining area. We created custom fabric draping from actual hospital blueprints, accented with white draping. Using components, such as PVC piping, cement vessels, cinder blocks, and blueprint candle vases, we were able to take elements from construction and turn them into elegant and unique decor pieces. With lighting, we were able to transform the USCC and made it feel like a completely new space – rather than the floor of a concert arena! From scaffolding with succulents to sawhorse tables with copper elements and themed hors d’oeuvres, the event was truly one of a kind. The dinner provided by Corner Kitchen Catering and 50/Fifty: The Art of Dessert was delicious. The multiple oversized screens and interactive stages allowed for guests to be fully immersed in the presentations. The heartfelt stories shared by patients of Mission Hospital were truly inspiring. It was an honor to be part of an event that will help so many in Western North Carolina.
