Jennifer and Ben were meant to be together.  It was a true love story.  They both picked a wedding day that held a special significance to their families and were married on a cold winter day in January at Lake Junaluska Chapel and the reception followed at the Grand Bohemian Hotel in Asheville.

Jennifer always wanted a winter wedding and I absolutely loved her vision and ideas.  It was so refreshing to design a crisp, elegant winter white wedding with Adrienne at Blossoms at Biltmore Park.  The chapel was completely filled with beautiful trees and soft romantic candlelight.  I loved the hydrangea garland marking the pews.  The reception at the Grand Bohemian Hotel was just stunning with blush pink custom linens, luxurious floral displays and a fabulous gold cake by Tiffany’s Baking Co.  These incredible photos by Jeremy Russell Photography speak for themselves.  Thank you so much to the wonderful vendors that helped create this gorgeous day for Jennifer and Ben.

Crystal and Dean wanted to create a Winter Wonderland for their January wedding, and I was thrilled to help them. From the beautiful crystals that hung from their ceremony location, to the glittering silver candles at the reception, their vision was a stunning reality. Thanks to Cindy Harter Photography for these beautiful pictures of such a lovely day!

We have enjoyed working with Gerber Village on their Halloween Festival and are excited to spread the word about their first annual Pumpkin Wall, a benefit for Mission Children’s Hospital, the only children’s hospital in Western North Carolina. This month-long Pumpkin Pledge fundraising drive, open to children and adults, will culminate at their Halloween Festival on Saturday, October 26, 2013, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., in Gerber Village, when a large wall of hand-carved pumpkins – each the work of individual pledge drive participants – will be “turned on” in a show of lights.

“We’re thrilled to be the beneficiary of such a unique fundraising event,” said Leigh Ruhl, Director of Development for Mission Foundation, who oversees fundraising for Mission Children’s Hospital. “The Pumpkin Wall is a first for Asheville, and the fun and playful nature of this event makes it an ideal match for the children’s hospital.”

Area businesses, schools, churches, youth groups, neighborhoods and organizations are encouraged to form Pumpkin Pledge teams and to compete for unusual or exceptional pumpkin carving designs. Each participant or team will receive a free pumpkin, which will be displayed on the Great Pumpkin Wall, a visible representation of the pledges raised. Two after-school pumpkin carving sessions for children and adults will be held at Gerber Village on Wednesday and Thursday, October 23 and 24, with small paintable pumpkins available for very young children.

Gerber Village will match pledges raised dollar for dollar, up to the first $2,000, according to owners Mike and Lizzie Thrasher. “Ever since we started the UK’s first organic baby food company 22 years ago, Mike and I have maintained a strong interest in children’s health,” said Lizzie, “so we’re honored to be able to partner with Mission and contribute in some small way to improving healthcare for children in Western North Carolina.”

Hope to see you there!

Elizabeth and Kyle met in Dallas through mutual friends. When it came time to plan their big day, Elizabeth and her mother Cheryl told me they wanted to create a romantic and elegant atmosphere. We chose the Grand Bohemian Hotel for the reception because we felt it set the tone for this lovely intimate winter wedding.

The ceremony was held on the Terrace of the Grand Bohemian followed by a plated dinner at gorgeous feasting tables. The decor turned out absolutely stunning! The tables were covered in custom mirror runners, with a Colin Cowie look executed impeccably by Blossoms. I loved the soft pink and blush colors that were accented with hints of gold. After dinner the guests danced the night away to The Business. It was a truly elegant evening, and these photos from Woodward & Rick capture it perfectly!

Andrew and Kim met through friends at a football game. They found they had a unique connection since his brothers are twins and her sisters are twins. Kim & Andrew’s connection went much further than their siblings, and soon we were helping them plan their big day!

Kim and Andrew chose the Crest Center for their mountain wedding. The autumn colors in the bouquets by Blossoms were gorgeous against the lush green backdrop of the mountains and the shimmering gold tablecloths at the reception. In addition to their wedding cake, Kim also arranged for a full dessert bar at the reception, complete with miniature pecan tassies, key lime pies, and chocolate mousse – YUM!

This reception was so much fan – everyone was up on the dance floor! We hope this couple have many more fun nights in the future, but we’re glad we were a part of this one!

Mandy and Chad were such a sweet and fun couple, and I just loved getting to know them and their families!  They were married against the gorgeous backdrop on the Vista lawn, followed by a lovely reception at the Inn on Biltmore Estate. The peach and mango colors used in the wedding were so complimentary, and really stood out against the lush green of the landscaping.  I also just adored the candy bar – such a fun touch and it kept the smaller guests busy all night long!   We wish Mandy and Chad a lifetime of happiness!

Opposites attract – and when they do the results are typically electrifying. Britney and Wes are no exception to that rule. Together we planned a beautiful, unique wedding followed by a party that none of their guests will soon forget. As I look up at the handmade thank you note that I received from the mother of the bride and review their gorgeous pictures once again, I am reminded of all the personal touches that were a part of this wedding.

The Ceremony took place on the Vista lawn at Biltmore Estate. Wine barrels flanked the ceremony site with beautiful fall arrangements created by The Bloom Room. Hand made programs were displayed in a vintage suitcase for guests as they took their seats. After the ceremony guests were treated to champagne on the vista lawn as the sun slowly dipped below the mountains.

Guests were then transported by Trolley to Deerpark where cocktails were served in the courtyard and Mike Bustin strummed on his guitar. Britney + Wes’ love for wine was expressed in a wine ceremony as well as a guest book. Guests were encouraged to sign wine bottles for them to remember the day on their anniversaries to come.

Britney enlisted her dad to create the wood signs that we used for the table markers. Each table representing a city that Britney and Wes had visited – with pictures from their travels. The travel theme carried over into the place cards which were hand crafted by Britneys mom and displayed in vintage suitcases…After dinner the party went well into the night in the courtyard with music by Split Second Sound.

What set Kelly and Anthony’s wedding apart from all others was their love of astronomy. From custom invitations that depicted their dogs as constellations, to the stargazing station at the reception, the theme of this wedding was set in the stars. Blossoms at Biltmore Park went all out for this wedding and created three different areas that were revealed to guests throughout the night, one of the most impressive being a recreation of Starry Night on ceiling of the pergola. Kelly’s unique color scheme of blush pink and blues mixed with gold came together lovely. The head table served as the showpiece for the evening, complete with floral chaircovers a cherry blossom “chandelier” and bold pink flower arrangements. This wedding was truly unforgettable, I hope you enjoy these photos as much as we do!
