I’ve really enjoyed my time working with Bethany and Michael (and Rick and Sue!) and with their wedding less than a week away, I’m reflecting on our time together.  They are getting married this weekend at Deer Creek Run with lovely colors of pewter, sunshine yellow, and accents of white.  I love all of the personal details to this wedding – a friend is their officiant, the runners and pillows are custom-designed, and the list goes on and on.  I can’t wait to share this one with you but until then, please enjoy these fabulous photos of the soon to be happy couple!

One of my favorite couples in 2010, Shannon and Michael had a unique and creative vision for their wedding. It was such fun working with them, their fantastic vendors and watching it all come to life.

Shannon and Michael chose the Grove Park Inn for their nuptials. They had their first date there many years ago and it was the perfect spot to begin the rest of their journey together.

Beth and her team from Studio Flora Diva did an amazing job bringing Shannon and Michael’s vision to life. The overall elements included lots of branches, twigs, lanterns and candles along with some custom linens. We added custom lighting to the reception areas and coordinated the colors with the mood. Shannon and Michael’s son Cullen was included in the ceremony and Officiant Howard Hanger blessed the family union.Jill Schwartzkopf & Ian Riley of Realities Photography did a wonderful job capturing the love on this fabulous day! All of the guests received hand blown friendship balls. We incorporated them into the reception table decor along with custom menus and place cards.

In lieu of a wedding cake the guests were treated to a dessert bar and Bananas Foster Station. Yum! The guests danced the night away to the sounds of “In Your Pocket”. Many thanks to Jill Schwartzkopf of Realities Photography for capturing this gorgeous day. Click on this link to see a video of the wedding; Shannon & Michael’s Wedding.

Scott and Emily are simply one of the sweetest couples I’ve ever met!  It was such a pleasure helping them plan their dream wedding at Lioncrest at Biltmore Estate. I love fall weddings! The colors are vibrant and beautiful.  Actually, I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. Thanks so much to the talented team of Brian and Gry from Woodward and Rick for capturing the emotion and beauty of this incredible day. Also, special thanks to Maura and fantastic staff at Biltmore Estate, Scott Thompson, Amanda at Adorn, Tim Lolley, Stacey at The Bloom Room for creating such stunning designs, Asheville String Trio, Premier Sound and Light and the Duke Blue Devil for making a special appearance!

In between lots of client meetings and planning for 2011 and 2012, we got to experience a little bit of fun too! I really love my job! As a festival and event planner, we like to participate in continuing education and travel to other events to learn from our experiences and to hopefully implement new event planning ideas and thoughts in the Asheville market. And if I haven’t said so, we really LOVE working in Asheville, it’s eclectic and has such a positive vibe.

I was fortunate enough to spend the weekend in Charleston, SC experiencing the incredible Charleston Wine and Food Festival. My overwhelming thoughts on this event revolve around the exceptional quality of the event and vendors that we a part of it. I even saw Asheville’s own Crooked Condiments as an exhibitor in the Grand Tasting tent! As a festival planner, I completely understand the financial undertaking of an event of this caliber, but the ticket prices vs. the experience outweighed my expectations. Here’s a couple of photos. We had a great time!! I’m really looking forward to the Asheville Wine and Food Festival coming up this August.

Andi and Barry chose Deerpark at Biltmore for their fall wedding day.

I have one word for this couple. Adore. Barry adores Andi. Andi adores Barry. All that mattered on this day was that they married each other & began their journey together as husband and wife.

Andi wanted a garden feel for her wedding. Who better to choose for the floral and decor than The Gardener’s Cottage in Biltmore Village. Libby and her team did a wonderful job bringing Andi’s vision to life.

I loved Sara’s wedding inspiration and vision from the beginning!  She’s a free spirit that loves everything vintage – and it shows in her unique sense of style. From the daffodil yellow and pewter colors to the touches of vintage glassware, paper flowers, and love birds, this wedding was all about Sara and Aaron!  I also loved that this wedding had a very small and strict budget to adhere to.  This wedding is true testament that you can have a very beautiful and personal wedding without going over the top in spending.  The vendors for this wedding really worked together to provide a day that Sara and Aaron will never forget – Thanks to Brevard College, Colorful Palate for their southern style cuisine, Classic Event Rental, Two Ring Studios for capturing these details, and finally Lissa at Flora Designs – she did an incredible job translating Sara’s thoughts into a reality!  Also, special thanks to Sara and Aaron’s family and friends – Jamie Michaels their photographer, their aunt and uncle for baking the gorgeous cake and the friend that let them borrow the very cool vintage car!

And by the way, I’m pretty sure that Sara could be a model!  The photos of her and Aaron are incredible!

We wanted to start the New Year off with a bang and with winter in full swing Parrish and Jonathan’s bright colors seem the right way to go!  So, I’m going to start where I left off with Parrish & Jonathan’s first blog post. Their wedding at Laurel Ridge Country Club was full of such amazing details and such genuine people. I thoroughly enjoyed the planning process and seeing their vision come to life.

I absolutely loved the bright, vibrant color scheme of robin’s egg blue and daffodil yellow.  Blossoms at Biltmore Park designed such an incredible landscape of candlelight and flowers!  Thanks so much to Amber Holritz with Corey McNabb for these incredible photos!  And Happy New Year – we are looking forward to a fabulous 2011!

The Atlanta Party Band kept everyone on the dance floor – and as a first experience for me – the Groom AND the Bride both crowd-surfed!  Awesome!

Kristin & Kevin. Fate brought us together. Oh, how I love these two wonderful people and every minute that I got to spend with them. Planning their wedding weekend was an honor. Melissa and I knew the minute that we met them that we were the perfect match. From there, this fabulous wedding weekend came to fruition. The Arboretum was the perfect backdrop for the ceremony. It was a gorgeous September day and the bride was beaming! Aaron from Aaron Imaging did an amazing job capturing the love on this glorious day. Stacey from The Bloom Room created the simple, elegant look that Kevin & Kristin wanted. From the rehearsal dinner at Claxton Farm to the bridal brunch at Deerpark on the Biltmore Estate, and finally the celebration at the Grand Bohemian Hotel, the wedding of their dreams came to life. Surrounded by friends and family, the love was abundant and contagious.

Oh the M&M’s..well, we actually created “K&K’s”…Kevin’s love (or shall I say, obsession) for chocolate or anything sweet for that matter made it difficult to keep any K&K’s around, but Tiffany had her own stash and did a great job incorporating the K&K’s into the cake. Yum! The Design had everyone on the dance floor until the very last minute. Many many thanks to all the vendors!
