We are so honored to have our British Mountain Styled Shoot featured on Burnett’s Boards! Inspired by the mountains and the colors of the British and American flags, Cortney worked with a wonderful team to bring her vision to life.

From the planner, Cortney Hamlin Jackson: For this styled shoot, we envisioned a British Groom marrying an American Bride at a family lodge set in the mountains of North Carolina. Keeping British traditions in mind, it was important to keep a classic feel in the rustic setting. Using a palette of copper, navy, and champagne with glimpses of deep red and aubergine, the wedding comprised of English garden flowers, loose natural style, green plants, flat cedars, taper candles and many unique decor pieces from their families personal collections.

The bride wore a flowing gown adorned with heirloom lace and wore antique family jewelry. Her bridal portraits were set among the trees and near a romantic waterfall hidden in the woods. Two young flower girls, dressed in ethereal dresses, walk hand in hand with the sweetest ring bearer. The ceremony takes placed tucked in the trees and the natural steps in the hillside topped with oriental rugs made for a cozy setting. The breathtaking mountain scenery of Lonesome Valley is a striking backdrop for the incredible evening reception.

Thank you, Burnett’s Boards!

We are so excited to have Mallie & Gifford’s Chattooga Club Wedding in North Carolina featured on Snippet & Ink! From the ceremony to the sparkler exit, it was a beautiful day full of grace and love and we are so thrilled to share their wedding images with you!

From the planner, Liz Whalen Tallent: The Chattooga Club, a private mountain resort and community, offered beautiful and lush mountain views surrounding understated and impeccable architecture, and the perfect landscaping to compliment an early summer mountain wedding. The huge old boxwoods and lovely manicured croquet lawn are so unique and give Chattooga Club a beautiful, traditional ambience that is so special to this venue. And as anyone with eyes can see, this couple are two of the most gorgeous people you will ever find – Mallie is a swanlike blonde beauty with a megawatt smile, while Gifford is dark-haired and debonair. Mandy Busby photography captured the couple’s first look so perfectly – all the images were perfection – it was impossible to choose our favorites! No one could contain their gasps when they saw this bride and groom outfitted in their respective wedding finery: a gorgeous lace sheath gown for Mallie and a classic black tux for Gifford. Talk about a power couple! They are also two of the kindest and caring folks you’ll ever come across – they always thought to ask about the comfort and needs of others before their own, and I so appreciated their positive, laid-back, and compassionate attitudes throughout the weekend, and the months we spent planning beforehand. Mallie and Gifford are not just beautiful faces – they are kind and loving, too – truly the total package and I know their parents are beyond proud of the adults they’ve become.

Thank you, Snippet & Ink!

When I think of Beth and Luke, my mind immediately envisions adventure, joy, competition, and love. At our initial meeting, I knew that the planning process would be exciting — they had unique ideas and adventurous personalities. Beth and Luke are world travelers and are always up for trying something new from hiking solo to jumping out of planes. I love their fearless spirit and it was such a great experience getting to know them and incorporating meaningful details into their wedding day.

Beth and Luke are not the type to have a typical ceremony… so we had two! The first was precious — an intimate wedding for immediate family at The Summer Chapel in Cashiers. It was so full of love and joy that when the bride walked out of the chapel with tears of joy in her eyes, she refused an umbrella saying, “I don’t need that, I am so happy.” Rain was not going to let anyone down on this day. Parker J. took that rain and the romantic fog and ran with it. The photos capture their love beautifully.

Their second wedding ceremony was at The Farm at Old Edwards Inn under a clear tent. The overall theme of the wedding was rustic and organic with a nod to the bride’s Scottish heritage. The tent was adorned with twinkle lights (to emulate the stars in hopes that the guests would feel like they were outside and not under a tent), tartan blankets, and hot beverages to keep everyone warm.

After the ceremony, friends and family followed the Scottish bagpiper to the barn and pavilion and were greeted with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. The reception included fire dancers, an ice sculpture of Poseidon, the amazing talent of Sol Fusion to rock the house, and a bride and groom ice climber cake topper.

Their exit? They both donned hiking backpacks and boots before exiting through sparklers into the woods. If they had it their way it would have been by helicopter…

We are so excited to have Lara & Ren’s wedding featured on Inside Weddings! It was a gorgeous fall day full of beautiful and meaningful details.

From Inside Weddings: “The reception space epitomized the old Europe countryside concept for which Lara had hoped. Long wooden banquet tables were topped with brass candlesticks, bud vases, and mercury-glass vessels for a touch of elegance. Verdant floral arrangements to match the bridal bouquets rested on brass trays and featured roses, peonies, dahlias, clematis, amaranthus, and astrantia in shades of champagne, ivory, taupe, and marsala wine. Vintage signs signifying the names of the streets that Lara and Ren grew up on, respectively, acted as table names – “The roads that brought us together,” beams the bride. A four-tier naked pumpkin spice pound cake with cinnamon and caramel cream filling complemented the hall – and attendees’ stomachs – with its fresh rosemary, sage, berry, and fig toppings.”

Thank you, Inside Weddings!

Aly & Chris celebrated their marriage in style with their cherished friends & family at the Farm at Old Edwards Inn, in Highlands, North Carolina. The bridesmaids were dressed in champagne tones and looked striking alongside the groomsmen’s handsome black tuxedo’s.

The celebration began with a heartfelt ceremony under a tent in the garden. After the ceremony, guests sipped their champagne while enjoying the early fall weather in the orchard. The flowers in early fall hues of deep peach, pink, aubergine and green tied the design together. The glass pavilion glowed with candles, table runners created with eucalyptus and grapes, towering natural centerpieces, and accents of gold on the tables. Dinner included braised short ribs and tenderloin and a dessert bar placed on an antique cart included mini fruit pies and Baileys shooters with chocolate chip cookies! It was a perfect sweet treat! Later in the evening, a hot apple cider and bourbon bar opened outside while the band, Party Nation, amped up their music. Aly changed into her dancing dress and the guests had the time of their lives on the dance floor!

Truly a incredible celebration for a incredible couple….Cheers Aly & Chris! We are so excited Aly & Chris’ wedding was featured on the cover of Southern Bride! Pick up a copy to see more of their beautiful love story.

Lindsay and Jonathan were married on a crisp fall day in early November at Claxton Farm. They envisioned a simple and elegant outdoor wedding with natural and handcrafted details. Jonathan created the table numbers and place card holders; while Lindsay created the programs, photo shutters, and escort cards. We incorporated natural details, including apples, into the decor for a simple, understated fall theme.

Lindsay’s father’s best friend officiated the ceremony and it was a lovely, personal service. After the ceremony, the sun set over the autumn-colored mountains as guests enjoyed cocktails and appetizers at the barn. It was an idyllic evening for a fireside dinner and the bride and groom’s apple-adorned chairs were a lovely nod to the season. For dessert, guests were served an assortment of Lindsay and Jonathan’s favorite cakes and pies.

One of our favorite moments of the evening was when the bride teamed up with the bridal party to serenade the groom with her rendition of The Way I Am by Ingrid Michaelson. They had a lot of fun with the props and it was a sweet way for Lindsay to say ‘I love you’ to Jonathan.

Thanks to Jeremy Russell Photography for sharing the photos from their fall Claxton Farm wedding!

It is the weekend of love! This Valentine’s Day weekend, we are so excited to share Alex & Jake’s Old Edwards Inn wedding featured on Brides!

From the Bride… “I wanted the weekend to feel like a vacation for everyone. We made sure everyone felt taken care of and welcome. It meant so much to us to have all of our friends and family in one place, so it was as much about honoring them as it was our marriage.”

Thank you, Brides!

We are so excited to have Caitlin & Martin’s wedding featured on Style Me Pretty today!

From the Bride… “We wanted to keep things simple and allow the natural beauty of the area be the backdrop of our celebration. Claxton Farm was recommended by Asheville Event Co. (our planner) and as soon as we saw it, we knew it was perfect. We wanted our guests to be comfortable and Claxton, located in an Appalachian mountain valley with 360 degree views, was strikingly gorgeous while at the same time provided plenty of shelter from the frequent storms that roll through the mountains during the North Carolina summertime.”

Thank you, Style Me Pretty!

Though the holiday season is over and we are in serious planning mode for our 2016 weddings, we wanted to share this art deco masquerade murder mystery holiday party at the S&W for Google’s Lenoir, NC office. It was a party unlike any other!

The evening began as guests arrived at the Hilton Biltmore Park and were greeted with a welcome bag that included branded martini glasses and snacks. The masqueraded guests met for cocktails in Roux and were then invited to board trolleys and form teams for the evenings festivities. Performers greeted the guests on the trolleys as they journeyed into downtown Asheville and gave them a glimpse (and some clues) of what to expect.

Once they provided the “password” to enter the famed S&W, guests were treated to specialty cocktails by Cordial and Craft and delicious food from Corner Kitchen Catering. With a photo booth, a DJ mixing 20s music, a murder mystery that involved team engagement, feather dancers, and acrobatics, there was so much to enjoy. Thank you to Realities Photography for sharing the images from the evening!
