We are so happy that Juliana & Matt’s North Carolina Arboretum and Century Room wedding was featured on Glamour & Grace.

On a warm spring day, Juliana & Matthew said I do in the gardens of the North Carolina Arboretum. The Century Room, located in Packs Tavern, a historic building in downtown Asheville, made for the perfect setting for a true celebration of this beautiful couple!

In tones of grey & blush, the room was set with flowering branches towering over mercury glass candlescapes on the tables. Adoring friends & family celebrated with the sweet couple and then sent them off with a shower of sparkle! Cheers to Juliana & Matt – we wish you all the best!

Thank you, Glamour & Grace!

Ellen & Liam wanted their wedding to be romantic with a touch of old Hollywood glam. Using deep purples and an abundance of sparkle and glitz, Diana at Biltmore Estate was transformed into a vintage, dazzling celebration! Ellen’s wedding dress matched the vintage theme gorgeously with feather and sparkle details.

We enlisted the help of Get Lit Special Event Lighting to create a custom chandelier wedding canopy that wouldn’t hide the majestic view of the Biltmore Estate and Blue Ridge Mountains. One of our favorite details was the use of Liam’s family crest in the printed materials and ice sculpture.

Kathryn & Justin’s wedding was full of bold navy and orange color and amazing floral detail from a floral cross at the ceremony to winding magnolia leaves at the entryway. It was a beautiful celebration and we loved working with Kathryn and her family to plan the big day. Thank you to Kathryn for sharing her wedding story with us!

From the Bride, Kathryn:

Justin and I met in September of 2011 while he was stationed at Hunter Army Airfield and I was still in school at the Savannah College of Art and Design. We hit it off immediately and began dating that same month. After Justin returned from a nine-month deployment, he returned home and proposed to me on our two year anniversary – of course, I said yes!

Growing up, I attended Camp Glen Arden every summer – and with Justin’s love of the mountains and the great outdoors, the Biltmore Estate was a perfect venue choice for the two of us. We met our wedding planner, Becca Knuth, through a mutual friend and we couldn’t begin to thank her enough for all that she has done. From the absolutely incredible vendors that she recommended to the more simple things like where to eat or what to do when we were in town, Becca never ran out of ideas!

We really wanted to have an intimate wedding in the sense that we wanted each other to know everyone there. We didn’t want to feel overwhelmed on such an already overwhelming day. We wanted to soak it all in with our closest family and friends – and we did just that! We honestly had no idea what we wanted when we began planning, but with the guidance of our amazing planner, everything came together. Becca was so on top of it – and fun to work with!

Our wedding was both beautiful and elegant. We had pillows made for the wooden benches in the courtyard monogrammed with each bridesmaids initials, along with my new married monogram. Justin and I danced to Moon River which had always been a favorite of mine, but being that we first met in Savannah made it that much more special. From the music, to the vendors, to the food – I just can’t begin to thank everyone enough for putting on such a production. Fall was definitely in the air that weekend and we could not have asked for a more beautiful day to start our journey as newlyweds!

I had the pleasure of working with Shayna and Rick for a year leading up to their wedding. Many clients these days have a shorter planning period, so it was nice to get to know this couple and spend time creating a wedding that they will not soon forget over a course of a year. I really enjoyed being with them – they are just one of those couples that exudes happiness and are a joy to be around.

Rick went to high school with one of Shayna’s college roommates and they were introduced at a New Years Eve Party. After 9 years of dating…and 4 months of carrying the ring, he popped the question on Shayna’s birthday!

With ties to Western North Carolina, they both knew that Asheville would be the ideal location for their celebration. Rick is one of those rare grooms that was involved with a lot of the planning including the decor – which we love!

We often ask our clients what is the most important aspect to them – with Rick and Shayna it went like this #1 – Bar, #2 Venue and #3 Band. Take one of our favorite venues – Diana at Biltmore Estate – add a great band – Groovetown, plus a custom bar and you get one fabulous party!

With a theme of “art deco glam with a rustic touch” [theme credit: Adrienne at Blossoms of Biltmore Park] and a color palate of gold, coral, peach + blush, the setting was exactly what the future Beckwith’s envisioned. We incorporated a custom light wall separating the cocktail area from the reception where guests were seated at long tables courtesy of Get Lit. Gold accents, sequined linens, custom Edison bulb chandeliers, and vintage furniture were just a few of the decor elements fused into the theme.

This was one of those weddings we had an 80% chance of rain that just went away and we were blessed with abundant sunshine. You could feel the love and happiness and everything was just flawless. Always a pleasure teaming up with the talented Schultzes. I will let the images speak for themselves….

I love Jen and Andrew and their adorable dogs! Jen was a blast to work with! From our planning meetings at Panera Bread to her brutal honesty about all things wedding, I absolutely loved our time together. I also loved their story – from their chance meeting in Alaska to their move to Asheville, they were meant to be together. They had a beautiful wedding ceremony and reception at Claxton Farm in Weaverville, NC and I loved how they included their dogs in their celebration! The floral was gorgeous and I’ll let the photos from Realities Photography speak for themselves!

It was my absolute pleasure to work with Sarah and Austin on their stunning wedding weekend.  From the first time I met with Sarah, it was evident that she was a bride after my own heart: totally focused on the little details and the small personal touches throughout that take a wedding from pretty to spectacular!  Sarah and Austin created an event that was so personal to their vision, so special and meaningful, and so thoughtful when it came to their guests’ experience.  They pulled together an amazing team of vendors and Homewood was the perfect choice for the intimate, Great Gatsby-esque look they had in mind.  The amazing photographic talent of the Schultzes behind the camera ensured the images would be to-die-for, and Stacey and her team at the Bloom Room created gorgeous tablescapes mixing deep reds, shades of pink, white and black with metallics, featuring elegant taper candles in candelabras and a collection of Sarah’s own silver accenting the feasting table.

Sarah honored her Indian heritage by incorporating lots of special family traditions into the evening; she wore a beautiful traditional red 2-piece gown for the ceremony, traditional Indian jewels, and she included a Hindu blessing from her sweet grandmother, Nanny, to complete the ceremony. She and Austin also participated in the Var Mala –  the exchange of Indian flower garlands (which Sarah made herself out of ombre shades of carnations) – which in the Hindu tradition, symbolize the mutual acceptance and welcome of the bride and groom into each other’s lives as they promise to make life together as pleasant as the flowers, full of fragrance of love and mutual faith.

Sarah and Austin’s family and friends were so sweet and so much fun to work with – I felt like part of the family by the end of the weekend!  Austin’s brother and parents were so kind and loving, and it was a joy watching Sarah with her aunties, mom, grandmother and cousins as they celebrated their families’ long-standing wedding traditions.  Sarah’s mom, Aminie, and Austin’s dad, John, gave a joint welcome to kick off the reception which brought tears to everyone’s eyes.  There was so much love evident between not just the bride and groom, but between the 2 families now joined by the marriage.

When the couple asked me for DJ advice, I didn’t hesitate to recommend Mitch Fortune, and he was a total pro, keeping the party going until past midnight. He played a great mix of soul music, lots of traditional Indian dance music, and of course this spring’s best club songs. The crowd didn’t want him to leave when the clock struck 12!

From the gorgeous, art deco bejeweled cake provided by Karen Donatelli Bakery, to the cigar bar accented with Austin’s father’s vintage eagles, to the gorgeous signature cocktails, to the Bubble Bar complete with coupe glass tower before kicking off the introduction of the bride and groom with a big group toast,  Sarah and Austin’s was one of the most unique and beautiful weddings I’ve had the honor to work on. Loved this couple and I wish them a lifetime of happiness!
